ABOUT us
I-Stream is sort of a virtual start up within UNDP Georgia aligning teams and platform of actors around persistent challenges in development by building #NextGenUNDP services and testing models of citizen engagement in policy and service development. Our work evolves around citizen-decision maker interaction as an expressed priority of Georgians in My World Georgia inquiry titled Question for Participation. We work with governments, private sector, academia, tech community and individuals who want to make a difference in Georgia and globally.
Our space is both virtual and physical – we helped establish a ServiceLab, the first government lab in Georgia at the national level, and Rustavi City Hall Innovation Hub – the first government lab at the municipal level. Portfolio of interventions in the last five years came up to 40 pilots.
We build ecosystem partnerships with local academia, private and public institutions, local and international actors, individuals and special interest groups around the issues of urban development, women entrepreneurship, giving persons with disabilities access to emergency services, recycling plastic waste, putting technology and AI in service of people, reducing brain-drain in municipal towns by creating real-time jobs for youth, fostering entrepreneurship for youth beyond the capital city, nudging bystanders to act when witnessing gender based violence.
Experiential learning is how we help civil servants make the best of their abilities and stay fully invested in their work. Our pilots allowed to test the latest tools and approaches - reverse engineering, behavioral insights, user centered design, foresight and social games, alternative data and micro-narratives research and have helped development of new government services at national and municipal levels.
